FlagWhite

Wifi: ★★★★★

Comfort: ★★★★ Ambience: ★★★ Food & Drinks: ★★★★

FlagWhite is only 10 mins walk away from Beauty World MRT. Not only is its location convenient, this space itself is very comfy and spacious - suitable for students to spend hours revising their lecture notes and doing assignments. Don’t worry! The staff there are very friendly. They do state that the maximum hours spent there during peak hours are around 75 mins. However, they did not chase me out the last time I spent my time there for almost 3 hours (recommended to come during weekdays if you want a smaller crowd). Besides, the menu pricing is also very reasonable. Their sides are around $6 SGD and their coffees and teas are around $3-$7 SGD - definitely can fit a student's budget to keep you seated there for long. What I really like about this place is that it is quieter as it is located in the neighbourhood area and FlagWhite still offers a cosy ambience comparable to those crowded cafes in town. They also provide Wi-Fi, peeps.

Kith Millenial Walk

Wifi: ★★★★★

Comfort: ★★★★★ Ambience: ★★★ Food & Drinks: ★★★

The nearest MRT to reach Kith Millenial Walk is Promenade MRT. In my opinion, this Kith Millenia Walk offers a good environment to study as it is located not in a crowded shopping mall. Besides, this branch does seem to cater to the office crowd during weekdays as it even provides meeting rooms. So, it will not hurt for you students to blend in with the office crowd to do your assignments there. As for their food and sides, they are still very much reasonable. For a cheaper option, they do offer set lunch as well. Their coffees and teas are approximately around $4-$8 SGD (a good price for a cup of coffee/tea). You do not have to worry about not getting any seats as there are so many tables ranging from tables for groups to even individual tables with charging ports. This place is surely not only work-friendly for office workers but also study-friendly for students. And please do not worry about Wi-Fi!

Berthold Delikatessen

Wifi: ★★★★★

Comfort: ★★★ Ambience: ★★★★★ Food & Drinks: ★★★★★

For a more fancy option, you can try Berthold Delikatessen at Capitol. It is located on the ground floor of Capitol Piazza. The nearest MRT to get here is City Hall MRT. This place gives off an elegant style with menu prices that are still comfortable for students' budgets. The food they have are mostly sandwiches and salads at around $7-$14 SGD. Their coffee and other beverages are around $3.50-$6 SGD (definitely student-friendly). They also have desserts to offer you. Most importantly, its cosy ambience and quiet atmosphere will be what most students are looking for to spend their time studying, reading or even doing assignments. Besides, Capitol Piazza itself generally has little crowd. So, you will not need to worry of being chased away. As for Wi-Fi, you can get it free from the Capitol Piazza itself. (A little reminder: They do not provide charging ports for their customers. So, if you need to study/work with laptops, please make sure you charge them fully before you spend your time here).

Pluseighttwo

Wifi: ★★★★★

Comfort: ★★★ Ambience: ★★★ Food & Drinks: ★★★

Pluseighttwo is a Korean dessert cafe that is located near Dhoby Ghaut MRT, just across the traffic light from SOTA (School of The Arts Singapore). Its location sits conveniently among most of all the design schools in Singapore as well as SMU (Singapore Management University). The place is very spacious and they provide a lot of tables and chairs for patrons to sit and eat. Their drinks are quite affordable which are around $3.5-$7.8 SGD. You can try their Korean bingsu and other desserts too, so as to encourage yourself while spending hours studying there. A lot of students can be spotted there and you should join them as well.

Operating Hours: 11.00 am – 11.00 pm

Starbucks at Rochester Park

Wifi: ★★★★★

Comfort: ★★★★ Ambience: ★★★★ Food & Drinks: ★★★

As far as I know, Starbucks has always been a safer option for students to study long hours without getting chased out. However, let’s look at this Starbucks branch that offers you a premium-vintagey atmosphere than any other branches and yet with a lesser crowd than Starbucks Reserve (United Square)! The nearest MRT to reach this Starbucks branch is Buona Vista MRT and you just need to walk a little further for 10 minutes to finally arrive at your destination. This branch is suitable for students who want to spend hours studying without being afraid that they will chase you away. This is because this branch is quieter and less crowded (due to its location and not many people know about its existence) as well as the fact that it is more roomy than other Starbucks branches. The unique thing about this place is that its building is an old colonial style mansion, definitely providing you a new ambiance to study. As for Wi-Fi, of course it is available peeps.

Starbucks at Liat Towers Branch

(Unfortunately during Covid-19 situation, this branch opens from 08.00 am- 10.00 pm | NOT 24h)

Wifi: ★★★★★

Comfort: ★★★ Ambience: ★★★ Food & Drinks: ★★★

Another Starbucks branch that I want to highlight is Starbucks at Liat Towers. Based on my own experience as a design student last time, you can definitely burn the midnight oil to study at this Starbucks branch as it is open 24 hours. This place offers enough charging ports to charge your laptop all night long. The tables have ample space for studying as well. Wi-Fi is surely available in all Starbucks branches. If your school is located near the town area, this place is perfect for you as you can always catch your first bus in the morning to arrive at your school and submit your rushed assignments (please use this information with more caution… only when you are rushing for deadlines to the point that your body allows you not to sleep at all :P).

Address: 541 Orchard Rd #01-10A, Liat Towers; Singapore 238881

Operating Hours: Open 24/7 (08.00 am - 10.00 pm for now)
