Orchid Extravaganza at Gardens by the Bay Celebrates SG60 with Heritage and Bloom

A garden display of culture and colour unfolds at the Flower Dome in celebration of SG60, blending Peranakan legacy, local icons and over 1,800 orchids.

This August, the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay transforms into a spectacular celebration of Singapore’s floral and cultural identity. Orchid Extravaganza returns from 1 to 31 August with a fresh tribute to the nation’s heritage, inspired by iconic local symbols and the enduring beauty of orchids.

The centrepiece is a 6.5-metre orchid Supertree, surrounded by more than 1,800 orchids arranged in a dazzling mix of Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium and Oncidium blooms. Two smaller orchid Supertrees accompany it, creating a lush, multisensory landmark within the Flower Dome.

Orchid Extravaganza at Gardens By The Bay celebrates SG60 by drawing inspiration from Peranakan architecture, fashion and culinary tradition. Visitors can admire heritage touches like a full-scale recreation of a pintu pagar, traditional Peranakan motifs, and a display of Nyonya-style sarong kebaya, kerosang and fine jewellery by RISIS and Rumah Kim Choo.
The display also includes a floral reinterpretation of iconic orchid paintings by Cultural Medallion recipient Lee Hock Moh. Each section of the dome invites reflection on how orchids have bloomed throughout Singapore’s history.

In addition to the floral showcase, every Flower Dome ticket, Friends of the Gardens e-card or SG60 Wonder Blooms pass entitles guests to one complimentary adult ticket to The Peranakan Museum. Redemptions are limited and valid until 31 August 2025.
Orchid Extravaganza is supported by Bloomberg and RISIS. It is more than a floral exhibition — it is a living story of Singapore’s cultural roots told through petals, design and imagination.
