In 2020, L’OCCITANE Singapore introduced the Big Little Things recycling program, marking the first beauty recycling initiative in Singapore to accept full-sized empties from any beauty brand with no purchase required. The program invites customers to give their used beauty packaging a new purpose while receiving travel-sized rewards in return.

The concept is simple and accessible. Customers are encouraged to wash and dry their beauty empties thoroughly before bringing them to participating L’OCCITANE boutiques. Only full-sized containers are accepted, and they must be properly cleaned and dried. For tubes, cutting them open and rinsing them helps ensure they meet recycling standards.

Upon arrival at the boutique, Beauty Advisors will assess the empties to confirm that they meet the recycling criteria. Items that are not cleaned adequately or cannot be recycled may be declined at their discretion. For containers without labels, customers should provide an image of the original product so that the brand and size can be verified. L’OCCITANE Singapore reserves the right to reject items that do not fulfil the stated requirements.

In appreciation of each accepted full-sized empty, customers receive a stamp on their digital recycling card. These stamps can be redeemed for L’OCCITANE travel-sized products, subject to availability and while stocks last. Customers are encouraged to redeem their rewards on the same day of recycling.

To ensure fairness, the return of beauty empties is capped at 30 pieces per customer per day.

By making it easy to recycle full-sized beauty bottles from any brand, L’OCCITANE Singapore continues to support more mindful consumption habits and a practical step towards circular living.
