Singapore’s beloved Nanyang style Toast Box has partnered with SōngHè rice for a circular initiative. Customers can enjoy a free toast or bun when they bring in eligible empty SōngHè rice packaging, and the packaging avoids landfill fate by being upcycled.

This campaign invites residents to support sustainability playfully. Bring in your used SōngHè rice bag to any participating Toast Box outlet except those at Jewel Changi Airport and Marina Bay Sands and get a complimentary ala carte toast or bun. All returned packaging goes to The Interchange Community Club for creative reuse and upcycling.

There were queries about why only particular sizes are accepted. As SōngHè clarified, no marketing trick is involved. The larger 20kg and 25kg bags are too cumbersome to handle in the current upcycling initiative, while the 1kg packs are too small to be repurposed effectively. It is still a thoughtful effort aiming to close the loop on some packaging waste.

Key promotion details:

  • Promotion ends on 30 Sept 2025

  • Valid at all Toast Box outlets islandwide except Jewel Changi Airport and Marina Bay Sands

  • Bring eligible empty SōngHè rice packaging to exchange for one free ala carte toast or bun (excludes 1kg, 20kg & 25kg packaging)

  • Returned packaging will be upcycled via The Interchange Community Club
