Gardens by the Bay welcomes SPARK, the Southeast Asian debut of a globally acclaimed art installation that has already enchanted audiences in London, Tokyo, Melbourne and beyond. Created by Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde, SPARK is a serene and immersive light display that celebrates the harmony between humanity and nature.
From 31 July to 3 August, the Supertree Grove Lawn becomes the stage for this ephemeral event, where thousands of biodegradable light sparks drift silently on air currents. Designed to evoke the wonder of fireflies, each flickering spark floats in choreographed movement, powered by design, air and technology.

Roosegaarde’s vision for SPARK is rooted in sustainability. Using fully biodegradable materials, the installation creates a dreamlike atmosphere that highlights the potential for beauty in environmentally responsible innovation. It is a moment to pause, breathe and reconnect under a canopy of glimmering motion.
Jointly organised by Gardens by the Bay and IMBA, with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Singapore, SPARK marks 60 years of diplomatic ties between the Netherlands and Singapore. It is further supported by community partner Tote Board and GIC.
Visitors can enjoy this luminous showcase for free during its limited run. However, do note that the show will be cancelled or postponed in the event of inclement weather.
