Celebrating Singapore’s success onto UNESCO’s list for its hawker culture by participating in an online hawker hunt to claim dining vouchers.

Singapore has successfully made it onto UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list for its Hawker Culture. As a way to celebrate it, a festival called SG HawkerFest has been held from 26 December 2020 until 11 January 2021. Through a web application, the festival aims to enliven the public’s sentiments towards Singapore’s vibrant hawker culture.
What are some of its features and interesting perks?
The public can contribute to Singapore’s hawker centres’ future by expressing their wishes on the web application. There will be an online treasure hunt in which the participants will be required to complete some quizzes and share their ideas on the infrastructure and features that they wish to have in hawker centres of the future.
By answering the quizzes, they will be given virtual badges that can be exchanged into dining vouchers. The vouchers can be redeemed from 29 exciting hawker centres in Singapore. There are also other celebratory activities such as a digital video series, a webinar on Singapore’s Hawker Culture, and the Hawker’s Seminar (a platform by the hawker community).
