Japan will start welcoming tourists from US, Australia, Thailand, and Singapore on package tours.

As stated by the Japan Tourism Agency on 17 May, the Japan tourism trial will begin this month!

“So as to gather necessary information for the full resumption of tourism to Japan, we will carry out a trial project in the form of small-group package tours in May, in which the travel agency will control movement,” the agency said.

These are some of the requirements to enter Japan:

  • Travellers from these 4 countries are welcomed - the United State, Australia, Thailand and Singapore!

  • Travellers must have received three Covid-19 vaccination doses recognised by Japan which are Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Novavax.

  • They must purchase their own medical insurance.

  • They are to participate in packaged tours with predetermined itineraries approved by the government.

  • A tour guide needs to accompany them throughout the trip at all times.

  • Individual tourists will not be allowed to enter the country.
