We started renovating the apartment last October. Immediately after the Circuit Breaker, we hired a contractor called Homeworks Construction, and they were really good and fast. The renovation was completed around mid-January this year and they re-configured the entire space to our liking by taking down the walls around every single room

It definitely feels like a holiday, everyday!

With the current covid-19 situation around the world and travel restrictions, this uniquely beautiful apartment surely is a refreshing addition to the residential design scene in Singapore. Located in such a great location, Siddiq and Hui Qi’s walk-up apartment in one of Joo Chiat shophouses will transport you out of Singapore with its Moroccan/Santorini or even Bali vibes that the apartment carries in its design!

Upon entering the walk-up apartment, one immediately feels a sense of calm and serenity. The entire space is surrounded by a soft neutral palette along with a tint of brown accents and earth tones featuring materials such as rattan, solid teak, travertine marble, cowhide leather, hand-woven textiles and greeneries around the house.

As you walk through the entire space, spot the beauty of the soft curves and arches on this apartment’s walls and edges. The entire space is so seamless with a touch of rawness as its walls, floors and ceilings are all covered in off-white micro-cement finish.

There is a huge archway in the apartment that serves as a statement and a visual separation which frames both the living room and bedroom. You would feel as if you were living in a beautiful cave!

Overall, Siddiq and Hui Qi are very happy with the end result of their dream home! Homeworks Construction has helped Siddiq and Hui Qi to re-configure the entire space according to their preferences by hacking down the walls around every single room in order to create the open-concept design that they wanted. As a result, the entire space offers such a bright and airy atmosphere.
